okay, I know this is not the finished version of my last WIP, but I realized Valentine's Day was coming up soon and I promised to do this picture for a contest/for peoples (and 14th is the deadline T__T)
Happy Valentines!

This is Ouran High School Host Club fanart of Haruhi and either Kaoru/Hikaru (you pick). I think it looks more like Kaoru (I can't remember whether the fringe goes that way or not) but Hikaru fits the title better. xD

I thought the idea of Haruhi and Kaoru/Hikaru cosplaying as Beauty and the Beast works well. Their uniforms even look a little like that. o___0

First proper fanart I've ever done. It was extremerly hard. I know that arm still looks wonky but I tried a million times and couldn't get it right. Anyway, I'm pretty proud of this picture.

That's fantastic, Yannie! The colouring makes it look like it's a romantic glowy sunset. XD Pose is great too.

Aww... I still don't think I like Ouran, but I love this piece!

The background has such a warm, soft/glowy feel to it, it's great! Now I want to know how Yan did the detailed walkway and the pretty rose patterns on the edges! xD

Great job on the characters themselves, by the way- the proportions look good, especially since I haven't seen Yan draw any non-chibi things before! ^______^

This is awesome, but perhaps it would look a bit better if the top of the piece was not quite so close to the characters' heads? It looks a bit awkward, as though they're really tall and their heads are nearly brushing the 'ceiling', or something. xDDD;

Also, the lines on the middle pole on the right hand side seem to be more prominent than their counterpart, perhaps it would look better if you blended them in more? ^^

I really like the soft colouring on the characters' skins, but perhaps if you blurred some of the colouring on the dress it would help it to blend in with the softness of everything else?

Also, it might be good to note that shadows are always extra-dark just underneath, where something touches/is put on top of another thing. ^^

Another good thing to note is that the Kei likes to be annoying and make the Yan read through ultra-long comments.

If it was FFVIII fanart, the Kei would definitely +fav, but the Kei does not have much liking for Ouran or Disney... =/ -flails-
